Changing your address with Social Security online is the most convenient of all the available options. You can even do it in the comfort of your couch! No in-person visits, long address change forms, or whatsoever.
You are eligible for the online SSA address change in the following scenarios:
- Recipient of Social Security benefits
- Enrolled in Medicare
You need to have my Social Security account before you proceed to change your address. You need to fulfill the eligibility criteria to create a Social Security account:
- Have a valid email address
- Have a Social Security number
- Have a U.S. mailing address
- Be at least 18 years of age
Heres how you can create a new account:
- Provide your name, DOB, home address, SSN, and other required information.
- A confirmation email or phone message should show that you have completed the process.
- Thats it! You have your own Social Security account.
*Note: When you create a my Social Security account, you will no longer receive a paper Social Security Statement in the mail. You will, however, receive email reminders.

Log into your my Social Security account by providing a username and password.
- Go to My Profile and select Update Contact Information.
- Type your new address and press update. You can also schedule this update to take effect on a particular day your moving date.

How To Change Address Seguridad Social
You need to keep all government agencies up to date re your actual address, including the Seguridad Social, as a change of address might involve a change of medical centre etc. as well and they keep records of all that, e.g. to facilitate online ´cita previa´ facilities that will automatically select the GP you´re registered with, if your data are correct. If you move from one autonomous region to another, they might need to issue a new card.
A new, national medical card has been introduced, but it will be a couple of years before all existing cards will have been exchanged.
You can inform the Seguridad Social in person, or through their online office, with either a digital certificate installed on your computer, or with a. You’ll need to be a U.S. citizen age 18 or older with a U.S. mailing address and will have to supply information from a drivers license or state-issued identification card from a participating state or the District of Columbia.

Documents To Include With Form Ss
Once youve completed the form, youll need to gather the documents youre required to submit along with it to prove your identity, age, and citizenship statusthose of the person youre applying for a card on behalf ofor both. These documents typically include the following:
- An original birth certificate or other permissible proof of age, such as a passport, final adoption decree, or religious record of birth.
- An unexpired drivers license, passport, or state ID card to prove your identity, or if you dont have one of those, a military ID, employee ID, or another identity card.
