    Tip : Create Strong Passwords

Strong passwords that use a unique combination of numbers, letters, and symbols can help prevent identity thieves from accessing your personal information in online accounts. Heres one password you should never use: your Social Security number. And dont use your SSNs last four digits as a PIN.

Finally, dont use the same passwords repeatedly. Even if its a strong password, and its one that you can easily remember, all a hacker has to do is crack that password once. The thief will then be able to access all your important accounts that are protected by that password, even ones that contain your Social Security number.

How Do Thieves Profit From Stolen Social Security Cards

Identity thieves can use your SSN to apply for more credit in your name. They may also place your Social Security number on the Dark Web to sell to other identity thieves.

    Access To An Official Id

The drivers license also serves as a personal ID document. This is extremely valuable if you dont have any other government-issued ID card. The drivers license is generally accepted in most cases for identification purposes. With a license, you can open a bank account in the U.S., enroll yourself in school/college/universities, apply for government benefits, and more.

This document is important because it shows your photograph along with the contact information that officials at other organizations can use to identify you. Lastly, if youre involved in an accident, then officers can identify you with your license and arrange immediate help.
